Chandigarh: The ED has informed the Punjab and Haryana high court that the bail granted to Ireo MD Lalit Goyal may be cancelled by the court. Ireo MD has taken the plea that the petition filed in this matter is not maintainable, as the petitioner has no locus standi to file, being neither a victim in this case nor an aggrieved person. He also denied violating any conditions imposed on the bail order granted by HC.

The ED, in its formal submission before the HC on Nov 14, through its assistant director Satyendra Veer Vikram said: “The issue raised by the petitioner of manipulation in the date of transfer and upload on MCA website is a matter of concern, being fraud and forgery, and it will be investigated in coordination with MCA/SFIO where Goyal and Ireo group are also matter of investigation.”

The ED mentioned that the other issues regarding the deal for sale of 14.816 acres of land situated at Gurgaon by Commander Realtor Private Limited to Oberoi Realty Limited, Mumbai, for Rs 597 crore through a sale deed dated May 8, 2024, and sale of 28.49 acres of land to DLF Home Developers Ltd (DHDL) for Rs 1,241 crore by Ireo Private Limited would amount to contravention on the part of Lalit Goyal and needs urgent attention of the HC, and his bail must be cancelled.
