Do you know High Court Chandigarh functions during Summer Vacations of June every year, be it June of 2025 but with certain limitations which is, only urgent matters are being heard that cannot be postponed inspite of the holidays. So you need to make out the case of urgency before the Hon’ble Court/Bench and only then the matter is accepted for filing in the registry.

But usually what matters are generally being taken up? That can also be your query. So for that, I have compiled the list taken from this year Roster, straight from the High Court website which you can access it here as Vacation Roster, yourself:

NOTES:

1. After Division Bench cases (if any), Hon’ble Judges sitting in Division Bench will sit singly and take up Single Bench (Civil & Criminal) motion cases.

2. Mentioning:

Mentioning of all types of matters (whether freshly instituted or applications in pending matters) will be made before Hon’ble the Senior most Vacation Judge during the Summer Vacations from 01.06.2025 to 30.06.2025 only on Court Working days.

3. Filing:

All the matters will be accepted for filing during Summer Vacations from 01.06.2025 to 30.06.2025 on working days.

4. Listing:

(i) All the Urgent Criminal matters (except Quashing) accompanied with an Urgent Form and ‘any other matter’ as permitted by Hon’ble the Senior most Vacation Judge will be listed during the Summer Vacations from 01.06.2025 to 30.06.2025.

(ii) The Regular Bail Application(s) or Application(s) for Suspension of Sentence accompanied with an Urgent Form praying for listing the matter during Summer Vacations will be listed after issuance of advance notice to the State as per prevalent practice.

(iii) The Application(s) in Decided Case(s) (except the applications for revival in Contempt Petitions and Execution Applications) will be listed before the same Hon’ble Judge who decided the main cases subject to availability of the Hon’ble Judge during the Summer Vacation roster.
