In this post we will discuss about the rising number of dead bodies of animals in Sangrur and the action taken by Punjab and Haryana High court to curb this issue.
As per the reports the Punjab and Haryana High court on Monday gave ten days time to the local authorities in sangrur to clear carcasases in bakhora khurd locality and sought a status report on this matter, as with increasing number of carcases case this order by the court was fair enough.
When coming to facts of this case how this question arose was when the court was hearing an application from Gurpreet Singh a local resident who had sought proponent of his October 2019 plea seeking shifting of carcasses ground which is adjacent to the road and near the school in the said locality .
The court was also shown the photographs by Singh council Manish Kumar who said that a local authorities were appraisal to the problem but to no avail.
Carcasses means the dead body of an animal.
The bench further in the matter observed that photos clearly disclose the pathetic condition, under which the residents are living and records would also indicate that beside local authorities representation was also given to the ministry of environment forest and climate change in July last year.
At this juncture we felt that mandamus is required in the first place to the chairman of Punjab pollution control board deputy commissioner of Sangrur district and sub divisional magistrate of lehragaga to personally reside in the said place for a week by pitching a tent so that they will understand the plight of people said by the bench of justice SN Satya Narayana and Acharya Puri
It was also quoted that “we felt that it is necessary to pass such order to make the people wake up to the realities in life instead of spending their time in the partial house and sitting over representation of the common people and not talking care for that years and the bench added giving the 10 days time for clearing of carcasses there and submitting compliance report by September 18.
