CANCELLATION REPORT FILED AS POLICE FAILED TO IDENTIFIED INTRUDERES FROM THE VIDEO

Police on Saturday filed a ‘closure report’ in a local court citing ‘no clues found’ about the intruders who had entered into a government house of the additional deputy commissioner Jaswinderjit Singh Grewal during the zilla parishad and panchayat samiti polls in 2018.

On September 24, 2018 three unidentified masked men trespassed into Grewal Residence in Moga and allegedly threatened him. the incident was captured in the CCTV cameras. The incident had taken place after two MLA’s and a son of another legislator, from another sitrict, along with other supporters allegedly entered his office and threatened him over nomination papers of opposition parties’ candidates. He had also registered a complaint with state election commission in this regard.

Grewal is currently posted as a ADC (G) at Tarn Taran at Saturday, raised objections at the closure report and also recorded his statement with the court, seeking a fair probe into the case. According to him not a single person was ;rounded up and interrogated by the police. He had provided the recording of the CCTV cameras but despite that the police did not try to identify the accused. The incidents of intimidating him and trespassing were all on record and yet the police was unable to connect these two events together.

An FIR was registered against three unidentified people against section 451 ( house- trespass), 506 ( criminal intimidation) and 34 (act done by several persons with common intention) of the IPC and Moga police station.
