In which the CBI court, Chandigarh presided under judicial magistrate first class -Sh. Ravish Kaushik held three persons namely Rajinder Kumar , Sanjay Bharadwaj , Sandeep Kumar all hailing from Sonepat, guilty of cheating and impersonation in recruitment exam meant for hiring conductors in Chandigarh Transport Undertaking. One person named Sandeep Kumar was acquitted in the said case. In the year 2010 on October 3 during a surprise check conducted at an exam centre located at Government College, Sec-46 for the said recruitment process some persons were found as impersonators. As the invigilators detected a mismatch between the faces of appearing candidates and photographs of actual candidates on the documents available. The glaring instance of said variance was brought in to the notice of Superintendent of said exam centre. Subsequently an FIR was lodged under sec 419, 420, 468, 471 and 120B of Indian Penal Code.

The central bureau had booked 11 persons on charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy , forgery and impersonation and arrested 13 persons including 11 candidates for the said exam . Previously In Aug , 2019  the court has sentenced four persons to 2 year jail after they were held guilty , the convicted persons were Vikram & Sonu the actual candidates, hailing from Zind , Haryana and their impersonates Rajiv Roy and Rinku from Bihar . Three persons namely Jeetender, Deepak Kumar , Komal were acquited by the court . As to the recent case the guilty person Rajinder Kumar was the actual candidate and Sanjay Bhardwaj acted as impersonator for him , facilitated  by Sandeep Kumar an employee of delhi government and worker in a MC school  who arranged and aided the said attempt of cheating in the exam in which the car of one Naveen Kumar was used although as said Naveen Kumar was acquitted . First Sanjay Bharwdwaj was arrested and after revealing of more names by him , other accused were arrested.

During the proceedings of trial – the accused persons and impersonators took the plea that they be acquitted as they were not present elsewhere and not at the venue of exam by showing the report of an hand writing expert. But the public prosecutor successfully countered the same by cross examination at length and proved otherwise to claims made by accused. The court will pronounce quantum of sentence on Jan 17.
