RS.50 LAKHS AS EX GRATIA TO THE MARTYR’S FAMILY
GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCED EX GRATIA AND JOB FOR MARTYR’S FAMILY
Naik Rajwinder Singh, 29 year old, hailing from village Dodra in Samana of Patiala district, died fighting with terrorists in Pulwama area of Jammu & Kashmir. The Martyr was enrolled into Punjab Regiment on March 24, 2011 and after completion of his training joined the 24 Punjab, where he displayed exemplary mettle and valor by doing extremely well in Ghatak platoon, which comprises the most physically fit soldiers of the unit. He volunteered to be posted for Counter Terrorists Operations in 53 Rashtriya rifles and was posted in Jammu & Kashmir where he laid down his life in the line of duty and attained his martyrdom.

The Punjab government announced Rs. 50 lakh as ex gratia and a government job for member of his family. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that state government would provide all possible help and support to the bereaved family. He also extended his sympathies to the family of martyr who died while fighting bravely with terrorists in the Pulwama area of Jammu & Kashmir.
Naik Rajwinder Singh is survived by his parents, wife Gurpreet Kaur and brother Balwant singh.
