ONE STOP CENTRE FOR WOMEN, PANCHKULA RECEIVES 161 COMPLAINTS.
Domestic violence: OSC for women receives 90 Plaints.
The one-stop center (OSC) for women, which was started by the social welfare, women and child development department in Panchkula in 2019 has in total received a total of 161 complaints so far.
According to information which was shared by the officials, the OSC was opened with an aim to assist women in need. If any woman lodges a complaint at the center, the OSC starts the process and investigation immediately so that justice can be delivered to the victim.

While sharing the annual details of cases, officials also said that since the opening of the OSC in March 2019, 161 complaints have been received so far. Of these 161 complaints, maximum complaints were related to domestic violence. Most of the domestic violence cases were reported during the lockdown period.
Officials said 90 domestic violence cases were settled by the OSC by holding counselling of both the parties at the center. The OSC center provides facility of police, health and psychologists to the victims. Besides this, victims are provided with five-day temporary stay at the center.
Deputy commissioner (DC) M K Ahuja said the OSC was set up to support women affected by violence, in private or public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. Also, women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture are facilitated with support and redressal.

The main objective of the scheme is to facilitate immediate, emergency and non- emergency access to a range of services, including medical, legal, psychological and counselling support under one roof. The OSC has integrated with 181 women helpline number. Victims can also call on the landline number at 0172-2586600.
